The Capitol Steps live in performance, 2012.

Just in time for election season, America’s most hilarious political satirists the Capitol Steps are coming to the Bologna Performing Arts Center!  Known as the group that puts the “mock” in Democracy, the Capitol Steps began thirty years ago as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. On Sunday, October 7 at 7:30pm, the Steps will make their way to the Bologna.

The group’s material is updated constantly to reflect recent political trends.  Current examples include songs about Mitt Romney’s plea to the GOP (“Help Me Fake It to the Right”) and President Obama’s class warfare (“If I Tax a Rich Man”).  No matter who or what is in the headlines, you can bet the Capitol Steps will tackle both sides of the political spectrum and all things equally foolish.

Although not all of the current members of the Steps are former Capitol Hill staffers, taken together the performers have worked in a total of eighteen Congressional offices and represent 62 years of collective House and Senate staff experience.   Since 1981, they have recorded over 32 albums and have been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS.

The Steps are the pundits of punch lines and will have you ready to cast a vote their way.   Come laugh the evening way at the Bologna on Sunday, October 7 at 7:30pm.   Tickets are available through the Ticket Office at (662) 846-4626 or on the Bologna website,
