Link Up: The Orchestra Moves
On Friday, March 21, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bologna Performing Arts Center, the North Mississippi Symphony Orchestra and elementary students in the Cleveland School District will perform in a collaborative concert entitled Link Up: The Orchestra Moves. This performance will allow 750 CSD students in grades 2-5 to perform with a live orchestra! Over the past two months, students from Hayes Cooper Center, H.M. Nailor Elementary, Parks Elementary, and Pearman Elementary School have been learning to sing and play recorder through The Orchestra Moves curriculum. The concert on March 21 will demonstrate the students’ progress, and will give them the opportunity to collaborate with the North Mississippi Symphony Orchestra. The performance is free and open to the public. Please make plans to attend this special concert and support our young musicians!
Please email Whitney Cummins, Arts Education Coordinator, with any questions.
Link Up is sponsored in part by Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute and by the Mississippi Arts Commission.
