Partners in Education
The Bologna Performing Arts Center and Clarksdale Municipal School District are members of the Partners in Education program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Selected because of their demonstrated commitment to the improvement of education in and through the arts, the Partnership team participates in collaborative efforts to provide professional development opportunities in the arts for educators.
Partners in Education Workshops and Teaching Demonstrations
During the school-year, the Bologna Center and the Clarksdale Municipal School District collaborate to provide professional development workshops for educators. Each 3-hour workshop includes various methods and lessons that enhance the arts education curriculum in regular classroom subjects. State and national teaching artists lead each professional development workshop.
- What: Arts Integration Movement Workshop

Led by MAC-accredited teaching artist Erin Mulligan, this movement workshop will provide teachers with novel, active teaching techniques for their students to learn about scientific processes and geometrical concepts. There will be two 3-hour sessions available to teachers in the Clarksdale Municipal School District. The morning session from 9-12 will be targeted toward lower-elementary teachers (K-3rd), and the afternoon session from 1-4 p.m. will be targeted toward upper elementary through middle school teachers (4th-8th). If you are a teacher from an alternate school district who would like to attend, please contact Cade Holder at the arts education office at 662-846-4844. Registration is free.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available through Delta State University for this workshop series. In order to obtain the 6 contact hours required by MDE for CEU credit, teachers must attend one three-hour session on November 15, and the upcoming arts integration workshop which will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. CEUs cost $15 and require minimal paperwork. Call 662-846-4844 for further information.
